  1. Make one copy of letter E

  2. Remember that the printed pattern is a mirror image of the design. You will be placing your fabric on the unprinted side and sewing on the printed side of the letter pattern. Read Foundation Piecing Basics Vol 1 for general paper piecing instructions.

  3. Main Fabric:
    • Cut one strip 3" x 22"
    • Cut one 4" x 4 ½" piece, one 4 ½" x 2" strip, and one 2 ½" x 2" strip

  4. Background Fabric:
    • Cut one strip 4 ½" x 14"
    • Cut one 4" x 4" square
    • Cut two 2" squares

  5. Piece in numerical order. Place piece 1M face down on side of the paper without lines by placing a small amount of glue stick in the center to hold it while you place the second piece.

  6. Add Piece number 2B.

  7. Continue adding 3B, and 4M Pressing between each step.

  8. Then add 5B, 6M, and 8M. Pressing between additions.

  9. Add the two squares 7B and 9B last.

  10. Press well and trim ¼" around the finished size of the letter.
