  1. Remember that the printed pattern is a mirror image of the design. You will be placing your fabric on the unprinted side and sewing on the printed side of the letter pattern.

  2. Piece in numerical order.

  3. "B" means background fabric and "M" means main fabric that you pick for the letter.

  4. Main Fabric:
    • Cut one strip 3" x 27"
    • Cut into three 6 ", one 4" and two 3 " lengths

  5. Background Fabric:
    • Cut one strip 2" x 12 "
    • Cut into two 3 ", and three 2" lengths

  6. Make two copies of the letter "B"

  7. The pieces marked 4B, 5M, and 6M need to be pieced together before adding them to the whole letter. Read Foundation or Paper Piecing Multiple Section Letters in The Alphabet Quilt

  8. Cut the 4,5,6 out as one piece leaving a generous seam allowance around this extra section from one of your copies of letter B

  9. Sew 1M, 2B and 3B together.

  10. Sew 4B, 5M, and 6M together on the second cut copy of letter B.

  11. Press well and trim to " around that extra section.

  12. Sew to the 1,2, and 3.

  13. Rip the seam allowance off the extra section on the seam you have just sewn.

  14. Now finish the rest of the pieces in the letter in numerical order, pressing as you go. Trim the block on the dotted lines.
