Make Machine Quilting Easy!
What a wonder these two little pads are for helping you control your free
motion machine quilting! Each little pad has a hard surface on the top (white)
and a foam surface (blue) on the bottom. The foam grips the fabric, so you use
very little pressure to move them and therefore move the quilt. I find that my
hands don't hurt after machine quilting, and I have much more control over the
evenness of my stitches. The two discs are different sizes (the small one goes
in your right hand under the sewing machine) and the large one is in your left
hand.
Even when you get a large quilt rolled up under the machine,
you just lay the small disc on an angle against the quilt roll and you still have
control over the quilt movement. If you are on the very edge of your quilt again
put the disc at an angle again with the edge of the disc just touching the edge
of the quilt.
When you are clipping your threads, it is so handy just
to let go of them, clip your threads and then get back to quilting. No removing
gloves or rubber tips and then putting them on again. Remember one of the reasons
we are machine quilting is to get things done quickly. Check these out the next
time you are at the quilt store.
