Book Review
Title: Storybook Stitches: Book 3-Garden Play
Author: Marge Wooters
Publisher: Indygo Junction, Inc.
Review: By Dori Hawks
This great book is a combination of piecing, applique, and embroidery
projects, which consist of wall hangings, framed pictures, pillows, and even pillowcases. If you love
to do embroidery, or would like to start, this book is definitely for you.
All of the designs in the book have embroidery, even on top of the applique.
The designs are old-timey children in the garden, watering, planting, swinging, and otherwise having fun!
Marge gives you instructions on how to transfer the designs to fabric for
embroidery and then how to add some fabric tinting with crayons or acrylic paint, so easy to do, but so
effective when you are trying to achieve that vintage look. Also included are large and clear illustrations
on the embroidery stitches used in this book. The last eight pages of the book include additional line
images for you to use in your newest projects.
This book, Storybook Stitches, is just one of the many books, patterns, CD’s
and other products available to you from Indygo Junction, Inc and The Vintage Workshop. The author, Marge
Wooters, has 11 patterns and books available with Indygo Junction mostly embroidery designs with quilt
