This quilt was made several years ago in memory of my
grandmother who loved flowers (roses) and she loved all kinds of needlework
and especially quilts.
Each block is an actual rose variety and was appliqued with
my technique to create a natural look. Each rose was embellished with
embroidery for the fine thorns and details. It is approximately 72X88
The red rose in the upper left hand corner (facing the quilt)
is called Rosa 'Loving Memory'..some of the others are:
'Play Boy', Jacqueline Du Pre', 'Bow Bells', 'Autumn Sunset' and 'Baby's
Breathe'. The label on the back is a giant vase of cut roses to create a
bouquet for her
