Description:
By coloring this block a different way or setting it on point within a quilt setting you can get a whole other feel and look to this block. It is stunning in just two colors, especially when you are using high contrast fabrics.

Fabric Reqs For Block: (Example fabrics in parentheses)
  • Light 5" x 34"
  • Dark 5" x 34"
Cutting Instructions
Piece Shape # Fabric Instructions  
A  16  Light Cut eight 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" squares. Cut in half diagonally once.
B  16 Dark Cut eight 3 7/8" x3 7/8" squares and cut in half diagonally once

Assembly (1/4" seam allowance throughout):

Step 1: Sew each A triangle to a B triangle. You now have 16 half square triangle squares. Press the seams open.
Step 2: Sew the rows together looking at the diagrams. Press the seams to one side, alternating one row the seams go one way and the next row the seams go the other way.
Step 3: Sew Row 1 to Row 2. Press the seams open or to one side.
Step 4: Sew Row 3 to Row 2. Press the seams open or to one side.
Step 5: Sew Row 4 to Row 3. Press the seams open or to one side.
