All of our thoughts and prayers have been going out to the people of the Gulf Coast in their efforts to rebuild their lives and homes after such a devastating hurricane. Quilters are reaching out and here are some ways for you to help those in need….

Make a monetary donation:

For more ways to Donate go to www.networkforgood.org and click on Help Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Make Quilts and donate bedding:
  • Read what those at the Houston International Quilt Festival are doing
  • Check out the Press Release from the American Quilters Society
  • You might organize a workday with your quilt guild or church to make quilts for the people in need.
  • Do you have some tops or quilts in your collection that you could donate?
  • Ask everyone in your guild to make some 12” blocks and put them into quilts at your next guild meeting.
  • Even those who are not quilters can help by donating supplies or by attending the workday and doing the ironing while all the quilters are sewing.
Piecefully,
Dori Hawks
