| 1. This is one method of cutting the Pinwheel piece for the
Whirlwind Block Pattern. |

2. Cut the rectangle that is required for the block that you are making.
In this example, for the Whirlwind Block, cut a rectangle 9 3/8" x 4 3/4".

| 3. You are going to cut a corner off of the rectangle by laying your ruler
on the fabric rectangle with the 45° line along one long side. See Illustration #2. |

| 4. Using your rotary cutter cut the corner off. |
 |
| 5. What you have remaining is the large pinwheel section to use in your block.
The triangle that is left is for your scrap bag. |
