Reprints of “Private Workshop” articles from Traditional Quiltworks Magazine are collected in this full-color booklet, Quilting Workshops, to provide quilters with instructions at home from well-known teachers. Eight teachers, including Jean Wells, Jan Krentz, Bettina Havig, and more, share their techniques and designs in eight different projects.
Some of the designs are updated versions of previously published designs: Mary Ellen Hopkins walks the reader through her “California Rails” quilt, complete with her famous “PPM” concept.
Some focus more on a technique than a complete project: Pat Campbell’s lesson explains clearly how to proceed in appliqué for smooth circles and sharp points, but only leaf, tulip and grape patterns are provided, with no layout pattern for the lovely quilt shown in the photo.
All patterns are given in full size. All the lessons include a biographical sketch of the teacher, and best of all, contact information, in case you or your guild are planning a class with one of these teachers in your area.
