Add-A-Quarter Ruler by CM Designs
This ruler and it's cousins (Add-An-Eighth & Add-Three-Eights) have been
designed with a "lip" along one edge. It is perfect for foundation piecing to
trim off the excess fabric with your rotary cutter before you sew a seam. I had
done a lot of foundation piecing before these rulers came out, but the Add-A-Quarter
made everything so much easier. It takes the guesswork out of trimming and sewing the
seams!
This ruler comes in two lengths, 6" and 12" I use the
6" for most of my paper piecing, saving the 12" length for larger blocks. The
Add-An-Eighth ruler is designed for miniature blocks and the Add-Three-Eighths
ruler is designed for flannels. These rulers can also be used with a template,
butting the lip up against the edge of the template and then cutting with your
rotary cutter. These can be found at your local quilt shop.
