Description: We are showing this block because
Hawks is the name of the founders of this site. It is a great
block in just two colors. Try using scraps, keeping your lights
and darks a high contrast so you don't lose the shape of each
triangle in the block.

Cut four squares 3 ½" x 3 ½"

Cut two squares 3 ½" x 3 ½"

Cut in half diagonally once

Cut in half diagonally once.

Cut two squares 3 7/8" x 3 7/8".
Cut in half diagonally once.

Assembly (1/4" seam allowance throughout):
Step 1: Sew one light triangle C to
one medium triangle E. Press seams open or toward the medium.
Repeat for 3 other C's and E's. ( 4 C/E units) *HS
|

Step 2: Sew one triangle C to one
triangle D. Press seams open or toward the dark. Repeat for
5 other C's and D's. ( 6 C/D units) *HS
|
|
Step 3: Sewing Row 1: Square A,
B/D, C/E, Square C. Press seams open or in one direction.
|

Step 4: Sewing Row 2: C/D, Square A,
C/D, C/E. Press seams open or going in the opposite direction
of Row 1.
|
|
Step 5: Sewing Row 3: C/E, C/D,
Square A, C/D. Press seams open or going in same direction
as Row 1.
|
|
Step 6: Sewing Row 4: Square C, C/E,
C/D, Square A. Press seams open or going in same direction as
Row 2.

|
Step 7: Sew Rows together in order.
Press seams.
