Second Place Art Quilt Large
I constructed this Day Of The Dead quilt shortly after my mother's
death as I needed to look back on her life with joy rather than sorrow.
I selected a palette of red-hot salsas, fresh outdoorsy greens, and fine
weather blues. A joyful scrapbook featuring portraits of my husband, myself,
and especially our two girls, now 9 1/2 and 2 emerged. Dedication to the
memory of Brenda Rawson, 1 February, 1925 - 2 April, 2002. Machine pieced
without templates or foundations.
