I made this quilt with fabric from Congas. They are wraps that women wear in Kenya and black cotton fabric. I used a block from a book, Peggy Martin's Quick-Strip Paper Piecing. I believe the block was called Serendipity, with the border being a pattern I came up with-zig zag.
