Memories Of A Trip To Denali Park when I was teaching in Fairbanks
inspired this quilt. The center building is the original Kantishna
Roadhouse. My stenciled animals represent those I saw. It never got
dark enough to see the stars so they are light. The pieced blocks
are created with my hand-painted fabric. With permission, photos of
Mt. Denali by Leo Keeler and Polychrome Pass by Sandor Feher were
used to paint the background images.
