Hanky-Panky Crazy Quilts
By Cindy Brick
ASN Publishing
Love Crazy Quilts, but want to try a fun variation? Use
those wonderful old hankerchiefs to make an interesting memento or collage for
yourself or someone special with Hanky-Panky Crazy Quilts by Cindy Brick.
Having inherited hankies from my grandmother and great
grandmother, I am very interested in what to do with them. This book certainly gives
me some incentive and inspiration to begin a Hanky-Panky project.
Cindy covers everything from finding and collecting tips,
caring for old hankies, to choosing the right combination of hankies, and choosing
the right background, border, & binding fabrics to coordinate with your hankies.
There are pages on embellishing with beads, buttons, stitchery, & other "found"
objects, plus her own special "Hanky-Panky" method of using your hankies. You would
be able to carry over these techniques into other projects not using hankies. This
book is a good book to learn some embellishing and embroidery stitches.
Check out the "Sources" page in the back of the book for
information on where to purchase hankerchiefs and other books to use for reference.
Have fun doing the "Hanky Panky!"
