Are you interested in adding some beads to your quilts, but not confident enough about how to bead? Larkin Van Horn has written a great reference book, “Beadwork For Fabric Artists,” that is wire bound for easy reference. Just open it to the page you are interested in, and lay it flat on the table to look at it while you are learning the techniques.
From the description of tools and materials, including fabric, beading thread, sewing thread, needles, glue and beads, to her clear descriptions and illustrations of each of the different stitches, this book got me very interested in using beads on my quilts. I have been “bead Impaired” before reading Larkin’s book, but now feel confident enough to start beading.
Included are clear instructions, and very good illustrations to show how to do seven techniques to add beads to fabric, and six more ways to add texture, fringe and several edge treatments.
Look for this book at your favorite quilt shop!
